What Commission Will I Get?

01 January 2026

Please note that starting January 1, 2026, TemplateMonster introduces an updated commission structure and removes the exclusivity model for all product types.

Product Exclusivity

As of January 1, 2026, TemplateMonster no longer supports exclusive products.

All product types published on the marketplace are considered non-exclusive, meaning authors are free to sell their products on other platforms while continuing to sell them on TemplateMonster.

The commission you receive depends on the type of product you sell on TemplateMonster Marketplace.

Website templates, plugins, and Elementor kits earn 40% commission.

Graphics, presentations, audio, video, and 3D products earn 20% commission.

The commission rate is fixed based on the product category and does not depend on sales volume or account status.

Starting January 1, 2026, the following commission rates apply:

Customer Fee

In order to calculate the retail price, we use the formula below:

Your price + Customer fee = Retail price.

Please see this post for more information on Customer Fees.

How Will the Customer Fee Affect the Author’s Income?

There will be no negative dynamics in the income!

Since the Customer Fee is added to the author’s price, authors will receive their commission percentage based on the price they specify, and the buyer fully covers the Customer Fee.

Say, for instance:

  • The author sets the price at $50;
  • The author’s commission is 40%;
  • If this product has a customer fee of $8;
  • The storefront price will be $50+$8=$58;
  • As a result, author will receive $50 * 0.4 (40%) = $20.

What if Authors Enable the Discount?

There is a special feature in our marketplace built specifically for the discount season – Discount Manager.

What effect will the newly introduced Customer Fee have on products with discounts activated through the Discount Manager? Suppose the retail price of a product is $39.

$31 Your Price + $8 Customer Fee = $39

  • With a 10% discount, the retail price will be $35 ($27 Your Price + $8 Customer Fee.)
  • With a 20% discount, the retail price will be $31 ($23 Your Price + $8 Customer Fee.)
  • With a 30% discount, the retail price will be $27 ($19 Your Price + $8 Customer Fee.)

The discount fee is deducted from the Your Price value, as it was previously.

Suppose the discounted retail price of a product is $50.

The discounted retail price is calculated like this: $44 Your Price + $6 Customer Fee = $50. For the same product full retail price without a discount would be: $49 Your Price + $6 Customer Fee = $54

  • With a 10% discount, the retail price will be $50 ($44 Your Price + $6 Customer Fee)
  • With a 20% discount, the retail price will be $45 ($39 Your Price + $6 Customer Fee)
  • With a 30% discount, the retail price will be $40 ($34 Your Price + $6 Customer Fee)

As you can see, the discount fee is deducted from the Your Price value.

What’s the Correct Way to Count All Those Numbers?

As soon as the Customer Fee is publicly released, you will find a calculator tool in your author account that calculates your income.

The calculator uses the following values:

  • Your Price is the price of the product that the Author sets.
  • The Customer Fee is an additional fee the marketplace charges to the client.
  • The Retail Price is the price a customer will pay for the product on the marketplace (Your Price + Customer Fee).
  • The amount you will earn is Your Income. It’s a percentage of the author’s price.
