How to Set Discounted Product Price

20 October 2021

TemplateMonster digital marketplace has released new functionality that allows Authors to independently set discounts on their products.

The TemplateMonster marketplace introduced a revolutionary change in product pricing policy. Each of our authors knows that the price of a product includes such values as the Merchant Fee and Discount Fee, now we’ve canceled both.

Today we’re introducing the Customer Fee that gives you 100% control over your earnings.

To set a discounted product price, the Author needs to take the following steps:

1) select a product in the personal account in the Products section and click the Edit button;

2) scroll to the Price section, or switch to the corresponding tab;

3) find the Discount Manager subsection and set up a discount.

The discounted price can be applied only to those products that are already available in the marketplace. Authors cannot add discounts to their products while uploading them to the marketplace and until the moment the products are approved by the review team.

Check out the discount terms and check the “I’m ready to activate the discount” option.

The following list of available discount values will show up:

  • 10%
  • 15%
  • 20%
  • 25%
  • 30%

You may choose any of the suggested discount values for your product. You can also set the period when the chosen discount value will be active.

MIND: The discount period should be set in the EDT time zone.

Basic Rules for Applying Discounted Product Price

  • One product can be sold at a discounted price for no longer than 60 days a year. You can set the product discounted price for 60 days or apply discounts for custom periods, like 1, 5, or 10 days.
  • The product price should not change during the 60 days prior to applying the discount.
  • The product price cannot be changed while a discount is active.
  • A 60 days discount is not valid starting from the new calendar year (ie. January, 1) but from the date the discount is applied.

While clicking on the Discount History option, you can check when a specific discount value was available for the selected item.
